This six-year-old girl went to meet the Queen... but was hit in the face

Poor little Maisie.

TODAY, QUEEN ELIZABETH visited Cardiff and on hand to welcome her was Maisie Gregory.

The 6-year-old was wearing a traditional Welsh dress and presented a little bouquet of flowers to the monarch.

It was all very exciting for the young child, until the soldier next to her accidentally clipped her across the head while saluting the Queen.

Here’s another angle of the moment (if you’re reading this on mobile, click here to view Twitter video):

The soldier immediately apologised.

Maisie’s mother Joanne Gregory told The Telegraph that her daughter was fine, “just very tired and got a shock”.

Our thoughts are with Maisie who will probably be forced to watch this clip at every family reunion from now until the end of time.
