FIVE FAMILY MEMBERS of bankrupt  businessman Seán Quinn will appear before the Commercial Court in Dublin today.

Quinn’s five children and three of their spouses will be cross examined by IBRC about their assets.

Last month, the court ruled that IBRC could question them about their assets and bank acounts in Ireland and worldwide in order to “fill the vacuum” which IBRC alleges exists in previous affidavits. At the time senior counsel for the Quinns had criticised the order sought as amounting to a “fishing expedition” or roving cross examination.

Earlier this month Quinn was released from Mountjoy prison after completing a nine-week sentence for contempt of court.

The hearing will take place today and tomorrow.
