Poll: The €100,000 Quinn wedding cake... do you care?

Six feet of cake, at €250 a slice. Do you care about what it cost, or who paid for it?

THE IRISH DAILY Mail has a picture of that €100,000 wedding cake bought for the nuptials of Seán Quinn’s daughter Ciara.

It emerged last week that the cake was flown over from New York in November 2007 and was charged to a subsidiary of the Quinn Group, along with the rest of the wedding costs.

The cake stood six feet tall and travelled with its own staff. Each slice was worth around €250.

Last month up to €2 million in pledges was made by people in support of the Quinn family. Ireland’s one-time richest man and his family are currently representing themselves across various legal battles with IBRC, the former Anglo Irish Bank.

The cake is hitting the headlines, but do you care about what it cost, or who paid for it, or both? Tell us why in the comments section below…
