SINN FÉIN IS the biggest loser in the latest Irish political opinion poll.

A new poll, conducted by Red C research for the Sunday Business Post, shows that Gerry Adams’ charges have slipped by 2% to 14% preference among voters.

That slide is the most significant movement seen in the poll, with both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael also slipping slightly by 1% apiece, to 25% and 29% respectively.

It’s the lowest percentage that Sinn Féin has managed in such polling since last January and represents some good news for Taoiseach Leo Varadkar ahead of this evening’s Fine Gael presidential dinner.

It’s certainly a good poll for independents however, with the Independent Alliance moving up two points to 4% and the sundry other non-party elected representatives moving to 12% (up 2%).
