Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Dublin 4 post office robbery

A man fled on a silver moped after stealing what gardaí call “a substantial amount of cash”.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at a post office in Woodbine Park, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, at around 9.15am yesterday.

A lone suspect, armed with what appeared to be a handgun, entered the post office, threatened staff and customers and stole what gardaí are calling “a substantial amount of cash”.

The suspect left the scene on a silver coloured moped in the direction of the N11/UCD.

Nobody was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as being male, between 5′ 6″ and 5′ 10″ in height, of slim build, wearing a white full-face motorcycle helmet, a black motorcycle waterproofs and gloves.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have observed this silver moped or the above described male in the Woodbine/N11/UCD flyover area, prior to or after this incident yesterday morning.

They want anyone who may have information pertaining to this incident to contact the Gardaí at Donnybrook 01-6669200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
