Man charged after threatening staff with screwdriver in Dublin robbery

The man tried to make his getaway in a taxi but was caught by gardaí.

A MAN HAS been charged after robbing a business premises in Artane yesterday.

The 31-year-old threatened staff with a screwdriver and demanded cash. He left on foot but was seen by gardaí who responded to the call getting into a taxi to make his getaway.

The taxi was stopped and he was arrested. Both the screwdriver and a sum of cash were recovered.

The man was taken to Coolock Garda station and was charged yesterday evening. He was due to appear at the Central Criminal Court this morning.
