POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland will resume their search for the remains of murdered teenager Arlene Arkinson tomorrow.

The renewed search for the missing Tyrone girl will concentrate on the Castlederg area, the PSNI said in a brief statement today.

Arkinson disappeared on 13 August, 1994 when she was 15-years-old. She went missing after attending a disco with her friends in Bundoran in County Donegal.

Huge searches were carried out at the time but no trace of her was ever found. It is believed that she was abducted and murdered.

Robert Howard, a convicted child-killer and rapist, was charged with her murder but was later acquitted by a jury.

Police announced earlier this year that they intended to carry out further searches in the coming months.
