Man and woman in their 70s airlifted to hospital after serious car crash

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses following a serious collision in Kylemore, Co Galway.

Gardaí were called to the scene of a two-car collision on the N59 at Kylemore at about 6pm yesterday.

The occupants of one of the cars, a man and woman aged in their 70s, were airlifted to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.

The occupants of the second car were taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar with minor injuries and have since been discharged.

Investigating gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Clifden Garda Station on 095 22500 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.

Three men have died in separate incidents on Irish roads this weekend.
