SIX CHILDREN ARE among a group of ten Irish people arrested in Sydney over suspected visa infringements.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that two men and a boy aged 16 were arrested by New South Wales Police in Fairfield on Thursday, and that money which had been earned illegally by the teenager and one of the men was found. It’s believed they had been working while on tourist visas.

The pair were released on bail and are due to appear in court, while the third man was sent to an immigration centre.

Two women and five children were later arrested at a caravan park at Bass Hill.

ABC News reports that that police were acting on a tip off.

The women and children have been given bridging visas and the oldest of the women, a 27-year-old, is due to appear in court.
