GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after skeletal human remains were found at a nature reserve in Limerick.

The remains, believed to have been found by local authority employees who were working in the area, were discovered at around 1pm on the Shannon Estuary off the Condell Road in Limerick City.

Initial indications are that foul play was not involved but Gardaí have said they are reviewing the files on all missing people from the area and investigations are continuing.

The scene remains sealed off for a technical examination.
