Off to a music festival today? Pack a rain jacket

May 30th 2015, 7:36 AM 10,861 11

IF YOUR PLAN for your bank holiday Saturday was to sit in the sun drinking and listening to music, we have some bad news.

While the music will still be heard from Kilmainham to Slane and across the country, the sun will be something of a problem.

Met Éireann says that today will see rain hitting the west by noon and will spread to the east by this evening.

It won’t be a day for shorts, either – highest temperatures will reach 13 degrees, with southerly winds kicking up all day.

Around about the time the Foo Fighters take the stage in County Meath, it will be cold. Really cold. Overnight temperatures will drop to five degrees.

Tomorrow won’t be much better, with rain and thundery showers and similar temperatures.
