Teenager detained after man stabbed to death at Dublin halting site

AN INVESTIGATION IS continuing after a man was stabbed to death at a halting site in Finglas, north Dublin, overnight.

It happened at St Joseph’s Park, Dunsink Lane in Finglas, shortly after midnight.

A 33-year-old man received a fatal stab wound and died at the scene, according to gardaí.

Initial forensic tests have been carried out, and the man’s body was removed from the halting site this afternoon.

An 18-year-old arrested in the early hours of this morning remains in custody at Finglas Garda Station this afternoon. He’s being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

In particular they want to speak to anyone who was in the Dunsink Lane area of the suburb between 11.30pm last night and 12.30am this morning.
