Man due in court over Swords baseball bat assault

The man in his 30s is due in court this morning in connection with the incident which left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.

A MAN IN his 30s is due in court later this morning in connection with an incident in Swords on Thursday where baseball bats were involved in an assault.

The man will be charged this morning at the Criminal Courts of Justice after the other man involved sustained serious head injuries in the assault.

The attack occurred in broad daylight on Main Street in the north Dublin town at about 12.50 pm before the injured man in his 40s was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital.

Two baseball bats were recovered from the scene by gardaí afterwards.

Gardaí yesterday issued an appeal to any witnesses who had any footage of the incident on their mobile phones to hand it over to them and not upload it to social media accounts.
