Gardaí and HSA investigating death of teenage boy on farm

It is understood that the 15-year-old was pinned against a wall by a piece of machinery.

GARDAÍ AND THE HEALTH and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating the death of a teenage boy in Cork yesterday.

The incident occurred at the boy’s family farm near Skibbereen, Co Cork yesterday afternoon.  TheJournal.ie understands that he was fatally injured when he became trapped against a wall by a piece of machinery.

A spokesperson for the HSA confirmed that they have been notified of the incident and will be investigating it. An inspector from the authority will be at the scene today.

It is understood that there were no witnesses to the boy’s death. Gardaí said they are investigation the incident as a sudden death.
