1. #IRISH WATER: The CEO of Irish Water is in front of the Oireachtas Environment Committee today to face questioning and to give a breakdown of their spending.

2. #POST-MORTEM: The post-mortem on a three-year-old child who died after becoming stuck in a lift shaft yesterday is due to take place today.

3. #STRIKE: The Irish Independent reports that the Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar has warned there could be commuter chaos due to “inevitable strike action” at Irish Rail.

4. #COMMITTEES: The chairpersons of Oireachtas Committees have “serious concerns” about the increase in their workload following the government’s Dáil reforms, can reveal.

5. #BURGLARY: Gardaí are investigating an aggravated burglary that took place in County Monaghan on Sunday evening.

6. #ASSISTED SUICIDE: Figures from the organisation Dignitas shows that eight Irish residents travelled from Ireland to Switzerland to be assisted with their suicide since 1998, reports The Irish Times.

7. #PENALTY POINTS: The Irish Independent reports that 66 drivers have been put off the road for getting 12 penalty points.

8. #SEIZURE: The Revenue Commissioners seized over 22,000 cigarettes that were found in a steel container in Limerick.

9. #SUDAN: More than 200 civilians in South Sudan have drowned in a Nile ferry accident while fleeing fighting in the town of Malakal.
