Armed police evacuate tube station after reports of man threatening passengers with scissors

Police said no one matching the man’s description was found.

ARMED POLICE STORMED a tube station in London this afternoon after reports of a man threatening passengers on a train.

Police were called at around 12.50pm today. They were told a man armed with a scissors was threatening people on the train which was bound for Tooting Broadway underground station.

Metropolitan Police said officers, included armed officers, attended the station and a search of the area was carried out but no one matching the description of the man was found.

Armed officers have been stood down, but local officers remain in the area.
