TV3 HAS INSISTED today that the political editor of the Irish Independent is not barred from the station or appearing on ‘Tonight with Vincent Browne’ despite a report in that newspaper this morning.
A spokesperson for the station was responding to an un-bylined piece in today’s Independent in which Fionnan Sheahan is quoted as saying he is “enjoying the notoriety” of being the only guest to be banned from the programme.
It follows a heated exchange between the pair over the Anglo Tapes – recordings of former Anglo executives discussing the bank guarantee – which the Independent has been publishing this week.

Sheahan claimed that Browne was being biased against Independent Newspapers after questions from Browne about how long the paper had the tapes before it decided to publish them.
The TV3 spokesperson told TheJournal.ie: “He’s not barred from the show, and nobody is barred from TV3.”
