Two men charged after Dublin cannabis haul

The men had been arrested following the discovery of 70kilos of cannabis resin with a reported street value of €420,000 in Finglas.

TWO MEN ARRESTED yesterday in relation to a cannabis haul worth €420,000 have been charged and will appear before Dublin District Court this morning at 10.30am.

They were both detained in Finglas and are aged 26 and 29 years. The other two men arrested alongside them remain in custody at Ballymun Garda Station.

As part of an on-going cross border operation involving An Garda Siochana and the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Gardai attached to the Garda National Drugs Unit and Organised Crime Unit stopped and searched three vehicles in Finglas at approx 4pm on Wednesday 30 March 2011.

Inside one car Gardai discovered approx 70kilos of cannabis resin with a reported street value of €420,000. A fourth vehicle seized by the PSNI authorities is being technically examined.
