Mother and daughter killed in Tyrone house fire

A MOTHER AND her adult daughter have died following a house fire in Dungannon, county Tyrone last night.

Police in Northern Ireland are investigating the circumstances of the fire which was reported to them at about 10pm last night.

The PSNI has named the victims as 38-year-old Deirdre McGirr and her 71-year-old mother Elizabeth McGirr. It is believed that both women are from the local area.

A man in his 30s managed to escape from the Dunlea Vale blaze with his life.

Police have appealed for anyone who noticed any unusual activity near Dunlea Vale to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
