Delay in wage payments to Ulster Bank customers

A number of customers said they had not been paid this morning but the issue has now been resolved.

IF YOU’RE AN Ulster Bank customer and were due to be paid today, you may have noticed a slight delay.

A number of customers have said their payments did not go through this morning but this has now been resolved.

A spokesperson for the bank told TheJournal.ie there was “a delay earlier today in processing some payment files”.

This has now been resolved and payments have been processed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

On Twitter, the bank had been advising affected customers to their local branch with ID and their payslip if they needed cash.

It told one customer that it may be tomorrow before payments are processed but a spokesperson assured TheJournal.ie that all payments should be processed by now.

The bank was hit by a number of technical problems last December with some customers locked out of their accounts and earlier in the month being unable to withdraw cash from ATMs.

In April, there was also a glitch in its ATM system which saw double the amount of money taken from accounts than was actually withdrawn. This was later fully refunded to all customers.
