A MANSION IN Milan belonging to the president of Italian fashion house Versace has been put up for sale for €49 million.
The house, owned by Santo Versace, the older brother of designers Gianni and Donatella, was built in the early 1950s. Sotheby’s International Realty which is handling the sale says it is considered one of the finest examples of post-war rationalist residential architecture in Milan.
The four-story 22,000 square foot house is located on Via dei Giardini, the only street with trees in the centre of Milan.
“There is simply no other property like this in Milan – on or off the market,” said Lorenzo Mercolini of Sotheby’s.
