'Viable' homemade bomb found in Northern Ireland

Four men were arrested by police investigating dissident republican activity after the explosive device was discovered last night.

FOUR MEN HAVE been arrested after police in Northern Ireland stopped a car and discovered a viable Improvised Explosive Device last night.

PSNI detectives investigating dissident republican activity searched the car in the Creggan area of Derry at around 8.40pm on Thursday night.

Three men – two aged 47 and one aged 40 – were subsequently arrested. A fourth man aged 41 was arrested nearby.

All four men are being questioned at the Antrim Serious Crime Suite.
