KILKENNY GET THEIR summer up and running this weekend when they take on provincial rivals Offaly in the Leinster hurling championship.

But, as is the perennial question, how have the Cats been going in training? Last week, with Lucozade Sport, we slipped through the old gates of Nowlan Park to witness one of Brian Cody’s famous sessions.

Star names like Henry Shefflin and Jackie Tyrrell as well as Lester Ryan and Cillian Buckley explain what it means to represent the Noresiders in championship hurling.

Bruises heal, bones shatter and mend… but they’re ready to sacrifice everything for their goal of following in the Kilkenny tradition: winning All-Irelands. Every championship is a story; this is where theirs begins:
