Man arrested after Irish farmer killed in crash on Welsh motorway

A MAN HAS been arrested following the death of an Irish farmer in a road crash in Wales yesterday morning.

The 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police in Wales have named the deceased as 56-year-old Andre ‘Nick’ Murphy, a stud farmer from Co Wexford.

It is understood he was delivering horses when the crash happened on the M4 near Newport in South Wales at around 4.10am yesterday.

BBC reported that the passenger in his vehicle, a 29-year-old also from Ireland, was not injured.

The man arrested in connection with the incident is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
