LOCALS IN THE village of Clough — near Downpatrick in Co Down — are being urged not to go near an escaped wallaby that’s loose in the area tonight.

The wallaby, and its baby joey, were seen in the Knocksticken Road area earlier this evening.

It’s not known as yet where they escaped from.

According to the PSNI:

Police are advising anyone who may come across the Wallaby and baby Joey not to approach them but to contact Police immediately on 0845 600 8000.
