ONE RELUCTANT IRISH Water customer has taken matters into their own hands, pulling up their meter and offering to donate it to anyone who might have use for it.

The online advertisement says the water meter was removed from the ground a few days after it had been installed and so has a “very low reading”.

It also humorously describes the item as an “unwanted present”. It went down well with other users on with many leaving comments praising the bold move. No one has expressed any real interest in taking the meter, though one person asked if the user would be interested in swapping it for a handshake.

Calls to Irish Water for comment on the ad went unanswered this evening.
