A MAN IN his 20s will appear in court today charged with a petrol bomb attack that injured a one-year-old.

A second man is reported to have been seen fleeing this scene, however a garda spokesperson said that no other arrests have yet been made.

An 11-year-old girl underwent surgery yesterday, with reports in numerous papers today saying that she sustained the injuries covering the baby.

At about 9.20pm on Thursday, a petrol bomb was thrown into a home in Ardmore Park, Ballybeg in Waterford, injuring three children.

The children were sitting on the sofa at the time when the device came through the front window.

Their grandmother managed to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher.

The man is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning.
