A WOMAN HAS been arrested in connection with an armed raid on a post office in Kerry earlier this week.
Gardaí confirmed that a woman in her late-20s had been arrested yesterday evening at 5.30 in Killarney.
She is currently being detained at Killarney Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Two men were previously arrested in connection with the raid, which took place in the town of Waterville at about 11am on Wednesday morning.
Gardaí believe that three men entered the post office and made off in a car with a sum of money.
Gardaí pursued the suspects and the car crashed in the Beaufort area of Killarney.
Shots were discharged by gardaí but no injuries were reported as a result. Two gardaí were admitted to hospital following the incident.
They have since been released, but are said to be “suffering from severe shock”.
The two men were later arrested and are still being held at Killarney and Tralee Garda stations.
A manhunt was underway yesterday for a third male suspect, who was believed to be somehow involved in the raid.
