TEMPERATURES IN PARTS of Ireland could hit 26 degrees today as warm weather conditions are set to continue, according to Met Éireann.

Forecasters say that it is set to be humid with “top temperatures of 21 to 26 degrees generally”, highest in the west and south and a bit cooler in coastal areas.

Met Éireann says that many areas will remain dry but some heavy showers could develop in the afternoon, most likely in west Connacht and Munster.

Warm sunshine is expected to continue into the evening with showers dying away. Temperatures tonight are expected to drop to lows of 10 to 14 degrees.

Tomorrow is expected to be broadly similar with warm weather and fewer showers, mainly isolated to southern counties.

Top temperatures tomorrow are forecast to be between 20 to 24 degrees.
