WIND GUSTS OF over 100km/h are being predicted tonight with Met Éireann issuing a status yellow weather warning for the entire country.

The strong overnight winds are expected to have a mean speed of 50-60 km/h with gusts of 90-105 km/h in many areas.

Widespread rain is also being predicted and will continue into tomorrow becoming heavy at times.

Lowest temperatures are being predicted at between 3 to 7 degrees but Met Éireann say it will be too windy for frost to form.

The UK’s Met Office has also put a weather warning in place for Britian and Northern Ireland.
