A WEATHER WARNING is due to remain in place until at least this afternoon with Met Éireann forecasting strong winds along the Atlantic coast.

Counties were battered by gusts of up to 100km/h last night.

It wasn’t exclusively for the west, however, with strong gusts making this a fairly unpleasant January morning in other parts of the country too.
