Witnesses appeal in Patrick O'Donnell murder investigation

GARDAÍ ARE ASKING for the public’s assistance in relation to the death of Patrick O’Donnell this weekend.

The 36-year-old man died following the altercation in Willie Andies pub in Mitchelstown, Co Cork on Friday at around 11pm.

A preliminary report of a post-mortem has indicated that he died as a result of that assault.

A man who was arrested at the scene appeared in court yesterday having been charged with murder.

Gardaí in Fermoy have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward to aid their investigation.

In particular, they are appealing to anyone who was in or around the Square area of Mitchelstown on Friday afternoon between the hours of 2pm to midnight and who may have seen anything out of the ordinary to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
