Woman (20s) arrested after man dies following assault in Co Tipperary

The man was found unresponsive in a residence in Carrick-on-Suir at around 11pm last night.

A WOMAN HAS been arrested after a man died following an assault in Co Tipperary. 

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to an incident in Carrick-on-Suir at around 11pm last night. 

The man was found unresponsive in a residence in the Castle Street area of the town and was later pronounced dead.

It’s understood that the man was stabbed during the incident. 

His body remains at the scene, which has been preserved for forensic examination. 

The woman, aged in her 20s, is currently detained at a Tipperary garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The Coroner has been notified and the Garda Technical Bureau and Office of the State Pathologist have been requested to assist in the investigation. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled.

Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man. They are appealing to anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward.
