PSNI issue appeal after woman is held down by 3 men and sexually assaulted

The woman was set upon by the men as she was walking along the Bell Steele Road area of Poleglass.

DETECTIVES IN NORTHERN Ireland are appealing for information following the serious sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman in the Bell Steele Road area of Poleglass last night.

The woman was walking along the Bell Steele Road from the direction of Stewartstown Road at around 10.10pm when she was approached from behind by three unknown males.

She was forced onto a grass bank close to the Woodside Estate where she was held down and sexually assaulted.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw a woman walking on the Bell Steele Road or anyone who saw a group of males in the area around the time of the assault to contact them.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Detectives in the Rape Crime Unit 0845 600 8000. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
