A WOMAN HAS been hospitalised after being rescued from the River Liffey at Wood Quay in Dublin city centre this afternoon.

Three units of the Dublin Fire Brigade, as well as a river rescue boat, attended the scene after a member of the public spotted the woman in the water and called the emergency services at 12.37 pm.

At the scene, canoeists assisted in helping the woman in the water before the arrival of the rescue boat.

The right lane of Wood Quay was blocked while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
