A MAN HAS been arrested over an assault in Dublin that left a man with serious head injuries.

The incident occurred outside the Wright Venue nightclub at Airside, Swords, at 3.40am on Sunday. The victim, believed to be in his 30s, had sustained serious head injuries.

This morning a man in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained at Swords garda station.

On Sunday, gardaí had appealed to anyone who may have witnessed an altercation between two men to contact them. They said they wanted to speak, in particular, to the driver of a light or bright coloured taxi who picked up a man on the roadway close to where the injured man was being treated.

The Wright Venue has said it is providing assistance to investigating gardaí including CCTV footage. It said the nightclub’s medic was the first to attend the incident.
