FOLLOWING ON FROM Richard Boyd-Barrett’s outburst yesterday evening there was more x-rated language in the Dáil chamber this morning as Fianna Fáil TD Seán Fleming was warned over his use of the word ‘orgy’.
Beginning his contribution on the ‘government’s priorities for the year ahead’ debate, Fleming said: “We’re here today as part of the three-day festival and orgy organised by the government…”
Cathaoirleach Jerry Buttimer interrupted to remind the Laois-Offaly deputy about “unparliamentary language” asking that Fleming “please use language with decorum”.
Fleming obliged, correcting himself and hitting out at the government’s week of “praise and self-congratulation”.
