SURE WHAT BETTER way to end the week that by picking up a life-changing amount of dosh?
An anonymous Donegal couple have come forward to claim Wednesday’s National Lottery jackpot of €12.1 million.
The sleepy surfing town of Bundoran was rumbled earlier this week when it was discovered that the winning ticket to the 11th largest jackpot in Irish lotto history was sold in American House on the town’s Main Street.
The same shop sold a EuroMillions ticket worth close to €55,000 two years ago.
A couple came forward today to collect their Lotto cheque and, in news that will surprise no one, they’re both “on cloud nine”.
“This means a lot,” they said.
The massive jackpot accounts for almost 20 per cent of the total amount paid out in Donegal since 1988.
