FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been injured in a shooting incident at a New York wedding last night.
The reception was taking place at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria hotel when the incident happened.
A guest’s firearm went off accidentally at about 7.25pm according to police reports, with the bullet discharging into the floor.
In a briefing at the hotel Manhattan’s chief detective William Aubry said four people were hit by shrapnel from either the bullet or its resultant debris reports the New York Daily News.
None of the injuries sustained are thought to be life-threatening.
A 55-year-old woman named Maya Rafailovich was rushed to hospital in her black cocktail dress with blood streaming down her face.
The male guest whose gun went off was apprehended and arrested at the scene.
