A YOUNG IRISHMAN who died following an incident while travelling in East Africa has been named locally as Govan Byrne.
The man in his 20s died over the weekend in Tanzania where he had been staying. It’s believed he died after a fall.
Tributes have been paid to the Dublin man from his local GAA club Naomh Mearnog, as well as many others.
A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the family of an Irish citizen in Tanzania.
