The attacks on France’s capital last night were sophisticated and coordinated. They targeted people going about a normal Friday night – enjoying a meal in local restaurants, taking in a concert and supporting their football team.

A gunman opened fire with an automatic gun at a small corner brasserie called Le Carillon.
The militant then went to Le Petite Cambodge restaurant across the street and continued shooting.
He left 14 people dead and several injured.
Police engaged in a shootout with the gunman who also died.
La Casa Nostra pizzeria was the site of the next tragedy. A gunman shot dead five people at the eatery on Rue de la Fountaine au Roi. Another person was killed on the nearby Boulevard Voltaire.
Multiple attacks occurred at the Stade de France where France and Germany were playing a friendly football match.
Two suicide attacks occurred and a bomb exploded.
Three people died outside the stadium.
Audible blasts could be heard within the grounds but the game continued and people were kept inside for their safety. Hundreds ended up on the pitch afterwards amid confusion about what was happening. President Hollande, who had been attending the match, was evacuated from the stadium
The fourth attack took place at another restaurant. Le Belle Equipe was busy when gunmen entered, shooting up to 18 people dead.
It is understood that the bodies are still at the site this morning.
10pm
The deadliest attack happened at the Bataclan Theatre, the scene of which has been described as ‘carnage’ by survivors and witnesses.
The terrorists entered the concert venue, where US band Eagles of Death Metal were playing, and immediately opened fire. Witnesses described people being gunned down one by one and panic as people tried to flee.
Three gunmen blew themselves up when police stormed the venue. A fourth was shot dead.
The death toll at the Bataclan is thought to be about 80.
