It's set to reach MINUS FOUR this week - and there's no sign of an end to the cold spell
It’s set to be freezing cold on election day – and over the weekend too.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP as low as minus four tomorrow night – and the cold, wintry weather will be with us until the end of the weekend at least.
After a cold, frosty morning it will be bright with sunny spells later today, albeit with some rain or hail showers around the coasts.
The temperatures will hit their lowest point of the week tomorrow night after another clear and cold day (again with the odd shower).
We’ll have similar conditions on Thursday, but with some sleet affecting Atlantic coastal counties.
Friday – election day – will be cold and showery with highs of just 3 to 7 degrees.
It will be “very cold overnight” on Friday, according to Met Éireann.
As for the weekend:
Staying cold. Some wintry showers on Saturday morning, but mostly dry thereafter. Very frosty each night, with icy surfaces, despite a moderate to fresh northeast to northerly breeze.
