Gardaí arrest teen over fatal stabbing of young man at Dublin flats
The young man had stepped in to stop a fight on Halloween night when he was attacked.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a teenage boy over the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Lorcan O’Reilly, who was stabbed to death at a flat complex in Dublin last year.

The young man had stepped in to stop a fight on Halloween night when he was attacked.

A garda spokesperson confirmed a juvenile was arrested today in connection with the murder. He is being questioned by officers at Kevin Street garda station.

At the time of his murder, Superintendent Paddy McMenamin described O’Reilly as “a very respectable, decent young man”. He said his family were “devastated by his tragic death”.

In the weeks after the 21 year old was killed, nine people were arrested and questioned by gardaí but so far in the investigation no one has been charged.
