New poll shows more than twice as many people want Martin as Taoiseach over Kenny
The poll also found that only 54% of Fine Gael voters want Kenny elected Taoiseach.

A NEW POLL has shown that voters would prefer to have Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin as Taoiseach.

The Millward Brown survey for the Sunday Independent found that more than twice as many people would rather see Martin (39%) in charge over Enda Kenny (17%).

It also found that only 54% of Fine Gael voters want Kenny elected Taoiseach, with many wanting to see Leo Varadkar in the top position.

However, the poll also found that 70% of those questioned wouldn’t change how they voted if a second general election was called.

The poll was taken among a sample of 865 voters between 21 March and 1 April.
