A MAN HAS been arrested after a fatal road collision in Kilkenny early this morning.
The deceased man died after the road collision late last night near Piltown, Co Kilkenny.
The accident happened at about 1am on the N24 Piltown bypass, at Tower Junction. The man’s car collided with a second vehicle leaving him with serious injuries.
The man, who was in his 2os and was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Gardaí said this evening that they have arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with the incident.
The man was arrested this afternoon and is currently detained at Thomastown Garda Station.
Gardaí at Thomastown are still appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
