Skoda Ireland left €4,000 lying around in a Dublin car park

WHAT WOULD YOU do if you saw thousands of euros worth of loose change left unattended in a public place? How long do you think the cash would last?
It turns out, the people of Dublin are a comparatively honest bunch.
Skoda Ireland mounted a stunt which saw a scrapped car covered in €4,000 of coins and left in a Dublin car park. A video camera then began to record the scene.
Here’s what happened:
Over one hundred people took advantage of the free money… but many insisted they would donate the money to charity.
Speaking about the stunt, Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing at Skoda Ireland said:
We viewed this as a social experiment of sorts and had no idea how people would react to it when we plonked a scrap car into €4,000 of coins in a public car park. It turns out the people of Dublin are remarkably honest – it took a full hour before anyone was brave enough to pick up the coins and claim them as their own! Not only that but a number of people said they would be donating the dosh to charity, so people are nicer than we give them credit for.
The stunt was carried out by Skoda Ireland to launch their new scrappage deal, which allows buyers to transform their old car into €4,000 when they trade it in for a new Skoda model.
