One arrest after pleasure boat 'driven erratically' near ferry at Dublin Port
Gardaí and RNLI units attended the scene this morning.
GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED one man after an early morning incident involving a boat that was said to have been driving erratically on and around the River Liffey and Dublin Port.
RNLI crews and Dublin Fire Brigade units also assisted in apprehending those on the boat.
A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that they believe the boat may have been stolen, and that it was a pleasure boat.
The spokesperson said the boat had been seen driving erratically up and down the River Liffey in the North Wall area.
A Dun Laoghaire RNLI spokesperson confirmed to TheJournal.ie that it attended the scene as “a number of people were in difficulty” due to an approaching ferry.
The person was then arrested in the North Wall area, gardaí said.
Earlier, there had been traffic delays in that area, with the Dublin Fire Brigade blocking the left lane but that has since been cleared.
