FORMER WHITE HOUSE press secretary Sean Spicer has finally gotten to meet Pope Francis.
When US President Donald Trump was granted an audience with the Pope in the Vatican back in May, Spicer was excluded from a group of officials who were in the room.
Spicer, who is Catholic, was said to be upset that he was excluded from the meeting as he had earmarked a meeting with the Pontiff among his biggest ambitions.
He’s now after achieving that ambition.
Spicer was in Rome as part of the International Catholic Legislators Network and the group got to meet the Pope in the Vatican’s Clementine Hall on Sunday.
Pictures from Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano show Spicer actually shaking hands with Pope Francis.
Vatican Radio also published a picture on its Facebook page showing the Pope greeting the legislators group. Spicer is in the room and he can be seen taking a picture of the Pope.
Despite the meeting happening over the weekend, Spicer has yet to tweet about his encounter with the Pope.
Spicer’s eventful time as White House press secretary came to an end last month, with him leaving his post not long after the arrival of communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
Scaramucci himself was forced out of the White House just 10 days after taking up his position.
