THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE are expected to attend the Catholic Church’s Eucharistic Congress this summer, which is taking place in Ireland for the first time in eighty years.
More than one million people attended the final mass when it was held in Dublin in 1932 in what was seen as a hugely significant moment for the newly-independent state and a symbol of the closeness between Church and State.
