Fears for welfare of abducted Welsh girl April Jones, 5
Police and locals have spent the night searching for April Jones, who was last seen getting into a van at about 7:30pm.

POLICE IN the Welsh town of Machynlleth will this morning resume the search for a girl, 5, who is feared to have been abducted yesterday evening.

April Jones was last seen getting into a van at about 7:30pm while out playing on her bicycle with her friend.

Dyded-Powys Police said they were increasingly concerned about her welfare.

Hundreds of local people gathered at a local leisure to organise a search last night, and are set to continue this morning.

BBC News quoted police inspector Kevin Davies as saying there had been “mention of a grey van” and that this was forming one line of inquiry.

“Nothing is being overlooked. It’s an angle, it’s an inquiry that we’re pursuing along with other angles,” Davies said.

“We’re searching the area. Everything we can possibly do is being done.”
